Under this link various examples of motion control applications are highlighted
1.  Choosing the right motor
Stepper and Servo motors are used in a wide variety of applications to control position and speed very accurately. The motor needs to have more torque available than is required by the load at all times throughout the duty cycle. This is a key factor to attain reliable and repeatable operation. The torque the motor can produce may decrease as the speed of the motor increases so it is also important to know at what speed the torque is required.  The following are examples of common mechatronic solutions including a discussion of the speed and torque parameters.
